It would have been helpful if you would have mentioned your Fasting blood sugar, 2 hrs post prandial sugar and HbA1c level. 1. If your HbA1c level is less than 7.5%, it would imply a fair control on blood sugar. Diabetic Retinopathy is the effect of diabetes on Retinal blood vessels leading to leaking and swelling in retina, bleeding and impairment of retinal nutrition. You can not notice it's early changes which are asymptomatic. Best way to detect is by check up of retina by an eye doctor once every year.

Be particular about food choices & timings. Follow the proper do's and don't of diabetes avoid all refined foods from your diet such as maida, pasta. Avoid high starchy foods such as rice, potato & colocasia. Include more fiber, pulses & green leafy vegetables in your diet. Avoid sweetend fruits such as banana, mango, litchi, chickoo, grapes from your diet.
