Hello. Renal infection may have symptoms like fever, pain in groin or back, frequent urination, offensive odor in urine. Renal disease can be of many types so symptoms will vary accordingly. Still common symptoms are loss of appetite, nausea,vomiting, sleep problems etc.

If infection has passed to kidney perse than it can be due to uncontrolled diabetes or due to infection in kidney stones and it can cause fever with chills with odema face and legs and pain in loin area and we have to plan treatment with antibiotics.

Hello, pyelonephritis (inflammation/infection of the kidneys) can be a complication of untreated cases of uti. It's highly unlikely in your case as you don't seem to have any symptoms of kidney infection such as fever, flank pain. Thank you.

This can remain asymptomatic or give repeated uti. It is not always compulsory to remove kidney unless patient is not symptomatic. You can do dtpa scan to see what is the relative function of this kidney. If less than 10%then it needs to be removed if patient is symptomatic. Acute pyelonephritis can happen but chronic must be preexisting before stone removal.

How can you insert another kidney. If your creatinine is normal and you don't have any symptoms then you need not worry about single kidney. Many people have single kidney by birth.
