I would advise her to get a transvaginal USG done to find out. Ovarian cysts may be asymptomatic. Or they can be associated with lower abdominal pain, painful periods, pain during intercourse, pressure symptoms. Symptoms depend on the size and nature of the cyst.

PCOD is a complex disease it takes time to resolve completely, many a times although Cyst is resolved but. Other symptoms persist for long as with PCOD you have your harmones imbalanc.
