Looks like you have allergy problem. It could be due to nearby sources.
Here are some checklist to rule out other sources of infection
1. Nose and sinus - frequent nose block, discharge
2. Dental caries - get filling done
3. Acid problem - burping, or chest burn, pain stomach- avoid lying down after meals for atleast 2 hours
4. Tonsil - big in size with frequent white discharge

Carefully re enact the incidence again mentally. If you feel that 1. It was a street dog and no way you can watch it for 10 days for its normalcy. 2. The saliva smeared on cricket ball some how entered inside the open skin by giving entry to your blood. If answer to both questions is 'yes' or'can't say. It is unlikely that enlarged tonsils cause foreign body feeling in throat. You should consult ent specialist for proper examination of throat, sound box etc. Some times vitamin or iron deficiencies give such sensation. Proper inspection under good illumination by ent person will settle the matter.
