Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. However, few important things are not given like: 1)current tsh, t3 & t4 levels. 2) lh, fsh & testosterone levels (if not checked, please get them done). 3) lipid profile & 4) an ultrasound examination of ovaries. These will help in identifying if there is pcod or not.
In hypothyroidism some times prolactin levels do go up. But if the levels are too high, then need to be treated with a specific drug for that.\further in pcod...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Madam, I am surprised to see such a high TSH level in pregnancy. I am sure concerned doctor must have talked about what level of TSH has to be maintained during the 9 months of pregnancy. Madam the levels during pregnancy should be :
1st trimester 0.2 to 2.5 mU/L, 2nd Trimester 0.3 to 3 mU/L & 3rd trimester 0.3 to 3.0 mU/L
Higher levels are not good for the development of fetus and for optimal result of the pregnancy. In fact right from beginning conce...more

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. When one is on adequate dosage of levothyroxine, tsh is usually maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l at which level most of the symptoms of hypothyroidism are in check. Since your tsh was high, dosage was increased. Now as the tsh has come down to lower limit of normal, it is necessary to reduce levothyroxine by 12.5 mcg. So you will have to shift to 87.6 (88 mcg) per day. Then after 6 weeks please do the test again to see if tsh has r...more

Thyroid disorders are associated with the thyroid gland. A thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped gland situated right at the base of one s neck. The role of the thyroid gland is to carry out numerous metabolic processes within the body. The brain regulates the functioning of the thyroid gland through a feedback mechanism. There are a number of disorders, both severe and trivial, which could affect the thyroid gland.

The thyroid gland influences almost all the metabolic processes in the human body through the hormones it releases. The swelling or inflammation of this butterfly-shaped gland, when triggered by an immune response is known as Silent Thyroiditis. It can lead to hyperthyroidism i.e. the overproduction of hormones followed by hypothyroidism or insufficient hormone production.
