Depends on legal requirements in defence ministry post you are applying for.
Some posts allow glasses and contact lenses. Others might even allow laser surgery, but you will have to contact them to tell you.
As far as contact lenses are concerned. Toric lenses are a good option provided you follow strict hygeinic practices while using those.

hello...cataract is a very safe surgery,,Aspheric lens like alcon IQ is very good and can be used by anybody...Toric IOL is used only in those patients who have high astigmatism on keratometry done before surgery...IF the astigmatism on keratometry is less than 1.5D go for aspheric but if >1.5 D then u can go for toric lens

Hello, well sometimes eyes develop allergies due to contact lenses and if ignored can progress to severe form. If there is profound redness and itching, discontinue lenses right away and get your eyes checked in a clinic. You can use an antihistamine eye drop along with tear substitute but not while wearing lenses. Take care.

Dear lybrate user:- you r suffering from refractive error, you may use either speck, contact lens or lasic laser corneal surgery according
to your profession.
There r some precautions before putting on /off contact lens on the cornea.

The symptoms described by you indicate that you are suffering from eye allergy and infection due to contact lens use. It would be a good idea to start using lubricant eye drops every hour (use preservative free genteal eye drops or any other preservative free eye drops). Along with these, start an antibiotic eye drop (4 to 5 times daily). Keep washing your eyes with clean hands and clean water repeatedly (4 to 5 times in a day).
