Patient information: age/sex: 56m height: 5'8 (172-173 cm) weight: 67 kg (148 lbs) race: south east asian (indian) location: us + india (was in india when he developed the spots), people from other countries are welcome to provide their opinion as well primary complaint: my dad has some discoloration (white spots) on his leg near his foot (picture: url/a/q5xfvyb) which first presented as a red, rough, itchy patch (kind of like a scrape) about a month ago. He sought treatment from a dermatologist which helped with the itching but hasn't improved the discoloration at all. There were no tests done regarding this issue. Only medicine was prescribed (as stated below). I wanted to know if this condition is related to his diabetes, aging, or a new condition that may not be skin-related, and what doctors/specialists my dad should consult. Additionally, it would be helpful to know what conditions you think he may have/should get tested for. Duration: 1 month existing medical issues: diabetes type ii general depression and anxiety, mood swings, aggressive mood current medications: etavone lotion tacrolimus ointment vitellius lotion note: he quit medication for diabetes a year ago (he's stubborn - I have no excuses for it), also could not confirm dosage previous medication: glucophage gp 1 (1 year ago - last medication he took for diabetes) glycomet sr 500 (3 years ago, first medication for diabetes that did not help much) vitamin b12 and d supplements drink, smoke, and/or recreational drugs use: none (never in his lifetime) other persisting symptoms (before the skin condition) and notes: joint pain lower abdominal pain lower back pain pain near lower right rib ("near liver") on applying pressure numbness/temporary paralysis in arms in the morning (on waking up) which goes away after massaging arm fatigue loss of interest in life, isolation from society, mood swings, aggression. Insomnia (claims he hasn't had a good night's sleep in over 10 years) slightly elevated bilirubin and iron levels (tested: around 5 months ago) puffy eyes (droopy under eyes) weightless: 78 kg (5 years ago) to 67 kg today without change in diet/physical activity/lifestyle. Has complained about swelling behind ears for over 10 years (ct scans/mri around that time did not show anything). Has not been in any forests/bitten by insects/animals/snakes, etc. As far as he remembers. No headaches lifestyle: sedentary - no exercise at all, is retired. Diet: typical north indian diet with chicken, vegetables, eggs, spices, nuts. Consistently avoids sugar/foods with high sugar content. Vitals (self-conducted): temperature: 98 f pulse: 80 blood sugar: fasting: 150 mg/dl (measured a while ago/is a rough estimate) postprandial: 282 mg/dl (measured: feb 13, 2022) please let me know if you have any questions that might be helpful. I asked everything that I could think of and took notes. However, I am not a medical professional/student so keep that in mind when reading this. Thank you for your help.

I think this may be leucodermal lesion, if it's permanent ,if it's fade away by time then it can be fungal.

Thanks for your query.
Clonate ointment contains clobetasol, which is the most potent steroid. It is strongly not advisable to use steroid without the prescription of a dermatologist. Use of steroid is associated with several side effects such as thinning, dryness, redness, white spots, dark spots, development of hair, pimples, etc to name a few.
Please consult a dermatologist, either walk-in or online to get your condition assessed.
Wishing you great health.

मुझे 3 माह पहले पैरो मे सफेद दाग धब्बे दिखाई दिया। मैं स्किन डॉक्टर से मिली उसने मुझे igh रोग बताया और दवा लिखे। cap. Pantop dar 1daily खाली पेट। tab. Melanocyl 2 tab+ 1/2 tab.

Vitiligo is a autoimmune disease in which bodys imuno system mistakenly attacks pigment producing cells in the body.in case of progressive vitiligo (when the disease process is active and new lesions are developing then oral steroid like tab deflazacort is used to halt the progresion of the disease and for that steroid is usually used for 2 to 3 months at tapering doses. To counteract the side effect of daflazacort e.g gastric upset pantoprazole (like pantop) is used. Melanocyl (methoxypsoralen)...more

You have to apply this ointment after medical advice and after confirmation of diagnosis of vitiligo.
Do not apply this ointment during daytime because sunlight inactivates the molecule.
