Manage your weight, exercise daily and and remember diabetic is a metabolic disorder which can easily be managed throughout the life.
It is not a dreadful disease, if taken care off well.

You must continue to maintain the regimen that helped you out of the depression. Apart from that I do not think that you met with a counselor. You must meet with a counselor for a long time even after medication has been stopped.
