Benefits of yoga for fatty liver

Everyone knows that the liver is one of the most vital organs of the body. Thus keeping it healthy and properly functional is absolutely necessary. Now the question arises what is the most promising and natural way of keeping a liver healthy? The answer to the question is yoga. There are certain asanas in yoga which help in enhancing the health of the liver. Yoga provides assistance in stimulating the functioning of the liver enzymes along with enhancing the functionality of spleen.

There are asanas which exert pressure on the liver which results in a strengthening of the liver along with improving the overall liver function. Yoga evaporates the fat deposits in the liver as they get used up in the form of energy while doing the yoga poses. The chronic liver disease prevents oxygenation and proper blood flow due to the presence of scar tissues. Thus liver is not able to remove all the pathogenic bacteria, metabolized fats, and pathogenic bacteria. According to the latest study yoga proves to be very beneficial in the above case as yoga is known to supply freshly oxygenated blood to every part of the body thus the proper functioning of the liver also gets stimulated by yoga. Kapalbhati Pranayama

This is a breathing exercise that helps stimulates the liver and boosts It's function. Start by sitting cross-legged on the ground. Inhale deeply and exhale forcefully through the nostrils. You must focus on the exhalation.

Fish Pose

This yoga pose helps stimulate and strengthen the liver. Start by sitting cross-legged and cross the left foot over your right one. Make sure that the knees are raised from the ground and are directed upwards. Hold your left foot by moving your right hand over the left leg. Press the left leg towards the abdomen as you turn your head towards the right.

Bow Pose

This yoga position helps strengthen and stretch the liver such that the fat deposits are used as a source of energy for the body. Start by lying on your stomach. Then raise the legs and torso at the same time. Extend your arms backwards such that you can hold your ankles. Try to hold the position for as long as you can and then return to original.

Cow Face Pose

It helps the blood circulation in the liver enhancing the metabolism of the fat deposits. Start by sitting with one leg crossed over the other. Stretch your spine and extend your arms backwards such that one of your hands is over your rib area and the other over the shoulder. Try to clasp the hands and hold the pose for as long as you can.

Boat Pose

This yoga pose helps you cleanse harmful toxins from the liver. Start by lying down on your back. Try to raise your chest and your legs at the same time and rest your weight on the buttocks. Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply. Try to hold the pose for as long as you can. Return to the original pose and repeat.

In order to keep liver healthy and safe yoga needs to be complemented with a healthy diet. There are some food products which are both healthy and good for the liver. Incorporating coffee as a beverage appears to reduce the abnormally high liver enzymes in patients with CLD. Adding green vegetables to the diet like kale, Brussels sprouts and spinach prevents the buildup of fat in the liver. Incorporating fish like salmon which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids helps in the reduction of the inflammation of the liver.

Addition of oatmeal in the diet which is rich in fiber content helps in maintaining the weight. Incorporating avocado helps in slowing down the damage of the liver along with being rich in healthy fats. As per research, milk protects the liver from getting further damaged because of the presence of whey protein. Sunflower seeds are a rich source of vitamin E and are helpful in restricting any further liver damage. If a person is under the medical treatment of a doctor then he/she must take his /her medicines regularly as advised by the doctor.
