Conclusion

In addition to yoga consuming a healthy and nutritional diet plays a significant role in not only preventing heart disease but also treating a heart condition. However, there are no magic food to completely eliminate the risk of heart disease rather there are food products which help in maintaining the health of the heart. First, an individual needs to eliminate all fried and fast foods from their diet. Food products which have high sodium content must be replaced with low sodium products.

Incorporating omega-3 fatty acid rich food like salmon reduces the triglycerides, thins the blood, and improves the elasticity of blood vessels. Fresh fruits and vegetables must be included in the diet as they are a rich source of antioxidants and folate thereby reducing levels of amino acid homocysteine in the blood one of the causes which appear to have links with increased heart disease risk. Food products of unrefined carbohydrate having a low glycemic index like cereals, whole grain bread, and legumes must be incorporated in the diet. Food containing Vitamin E like avocado must be added to the diet as they protect the heart from bad cholesterol. Combining yoga and a healthy diet can work wonders for an individual with heart disease.
