Nearly 2 out of every 10 people in the entire world is either suffering from the problem of stomach ulcer or had a history of this disease. The ulcers in the stomach are formed when the acid in the stomach gets overproduced, which strips the lining of the stomach thereby making it sore.
Since every human body creates a new lining in the stomach every 72 hours still the excess amount of acid produced eats away the lining at a much faster pace. Luckily, yoga provides a natural way of treating the stomach ulcer problem.
Although, the majority of the people around the world perceive yoga as only an exercise regimen for improving the flexibility still there are some asanas in yoga that have proven to be very successful in treating the condition.
There are four mechanisms along which yoga provides the solution to the problem first is massaging of the internal organs, second is enhancing the functions of the gland, the third is reduce the production of acid and the fourth is a calm mental state. Given below are some of the asanas in yoga that help in the treatment of the stomach ulcer.

Kapalbhati Pranayama Steps
A great measure when it comes to curing stomach ulcer, Kapalbhati helps you lay absolute focus on your breathing and de-stresses your internal organs. Sit upright on a mat. Your shoulders and waist should be straight.
Breathe in deep. Now breathe out short gasps of air and continue this for as long as you can. If you do it correctly, it should sound like panting. Each time you exhale your stomach goes deep inside and a thrust is felt in the abdomen. Based on your convenience, you can initially start with 10 counts and increase it to 60 counts eventually.
Pavanamuktasana Or Wind Relieving Pose Steps
This is a very easy yoga poses to treat ulcer problem and it is very beneficial as it helps you to get rid of all the gas that might accumulate in your stomach and cause adverse effects. Lie straight on the mat and bend your knees and bring them one by one to your chest.
Now wind your arms around your knees and hold the position for a while. Inhale and exhale deeply. You will feel a light pressure on your stomach if you do this yoga correctly.
Uttanapadasana Or Leg Raising Posture Steps
This is yoga poses for stomach ulcer that strengthens your abdomen. Lie flat on the mat. Place your palms against the floor and under the hips. Now start lifting your legs. Hold it at a 30 degree angle from the floor and count till 5. Raise your legs a little bit more, this time they should be at 60 degrees from the floor.
Again, hold it for five seconds. Finally, you stop at 90 degrees till your legs are perpendicular to your body. While bringing down your legs maintain the same pattern in reverse. Throughout the yoga pose try not to bend your knees.

Stomach ulcers are caused by H. Pylori bacteria. In addition to yoga poses , there are some food products which added to the diet might be helpful against stomach ulcers. Food products which have a good source of antioxidants present, stimulate the immune system. Incorporating bell peppers, cherries, blueberries in the diet helps in providing relief from stomach ulcers.
Leafy green vegetables like spinach and kale are a rich source of calcium and vitamin B. Consuming them can have a soothing effect on the ulcers. Addition of fermented probiotic food products like sauerkraut, kimchi, and miso are also helpful in the treatment of ulcer.
A person suffering from the problem of the ulcer should avoid alcohol, spicy food, coffee and citrus fruits like oranges. If a person has been prescribed medication like an antacid or antibiotic by the doctor, then it must be taken regularly.
