Hi you are right. Orthodontic treatment can rearrange teeth. Time depends upon the nature of problem you have. It can range from 7-8 months to 2-3 years.

You might be having hypoplastic teeth. For aesthetic reasons, bleaching can be done and if that white patch is hard and permanent, crow. Can be placed on the tooth.
