My dad's recent MRI report says: SCAN PROTOCOL: T1 and T2 weighted spin echo images taken in different planes including T2 FLAIR, GRE & diffusion weighted sequences. FINDINGS: Diffusion weighted images are showing no focal parenchymal area of restricted diffusion to suggest any acute lesion. Cerebral hemispheres are showing normal pattern of signal intensity; No focal abnormality noted. Ventricular system and subarachnoid spaces are prominent. No shift of midline structure noted. Pituitary gland, infundibulum and optic chiasma appear normal. Posterior fossa shows normal signal intensity of the brainstem and cerebellar hemispheres with the fourth ventricle of normal size and in midline. Cerebellar folic are prominent. cerebellar-pontine angle and internal auditory canal including its contents appear normal on both side. IMPRESSION: MRI of brain shows: Diffused Cerebral and Cerebellar Atrophy. Can you please tell me in what condition he is and what should be the next step. THANKFUL TO YOU.
