Hi sir, I am a 56 year old male weighing 50 kg, height 5" 4' diagnosed with type II diabetes mellitus. Recently, my sugar levels have been: FBS 135 mg/dL, B/B/F 177 mg/dL, 2 hours after lunch 280 mg/dL. My HbA1c% is<6.8%. I was having Gluconorm 500 mg previously. My doctor changed the medicine to Zoryl M 0.5 a tablet daily 15 minutes before breakfast. A minimal increase from normal in cholesterol levels was detected for which Ive been asked to take lipicure 10 after dinner. Is it safe for me to have Zoryl?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Fasting blood glucose 135 mg iis high, & Pp 280 mg is too high. Ideally one should maintain fasting < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg. HbA1c% looks good. Tab Zoryl M is good enough for treating the high glucose levels. It is a well established safe medicine.
