Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. Stiffness might have developed due to weakness of the ligaments & inflammed cartilage. Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee.

Hi. It's 3 years post injury and the fact that you have started pain in your knee suggests that your cartilage in the knee has started to wear out. You need to get get your knee xrays done and also mri if required so see how much damage actually has already happened. If the damage is minimal then I would advise to get yourself checked for the actual cause and get it treated or else time is not too far that your knee joint may damage. For symptomatic treatment you can take etorocoxib 60 mg if severe pain. Acl tear is the most common Ligament which tears and can be easily treated with key hole surgery. Day care surgery don't fear.
