Sir I have tested my thyroid profile which is normal and I am using thyroxine 100 mg should I change it as earlier I was suffering from hypothyroid so I was taking 100 mg.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Treatment for hypothyroidism has to continue for lifetime. Once you are on appropriate dose of levothyroxine, TSH does return to normal. Ideally TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, to be free from all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. So if your TSH is normal, it is because of the dose of thyroxine that you are taking. If you stop the medication it will again go up and all the symptoms of hypothyroid will return. Thanks.
