As far it's of trusted brand, it's ok to use custard pwder! If your baby is above 1 year, their digestives are mature enough to handle readymades, just make sure you don't offer as a main meal of the day, nothing readymade that is as a part of meal is good, but should not be the only serving offered! So, you decide. Once a while everything is fine! Cornflour and salt is used in making a lot of dishes by mexicans, latin americans and they offer varieties of dishes made of these to their kids/ babies above 9months, so it's a trusted practice in many cultures and countries, hence I will not comment on it, if your baby is fine with it and has not shown any digestion problem or stomach upset, no worries!

Hye. Depending on when and how you take a food items it gives benefits or side effects. Custard powder is basically cornflour or corn church. Cornflour is a refined source of carbohydrates and energy. It is fine when taken in moderation as a part of a nutrient dense diet. Cornstarch is essentially a highly processed carbohydrate. It packs about 30 calories or 7 grams of carbohydrate per tablespoon. There?s no protein, fat, vitamins, minerals or fiber. When added to recipes, it can add significant calories that you may normally not realise. In general, I think avoiding cornstarch in large quantities or in processed foods might be a good idea because it is calorically dense, however I might not be so quick to rule out trying a nutrient dense recipe if it only calls for a tablespoon or so.
