lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism treatment is for lifetime. You will have to continue the tablets every day without fail, whatever may be the situation. Plus you will have to check TSH periodically particularly initially till it is stabilised around 3 to 4 mU/L. At that level all the symptoms are in check. Plus you are a young lady, so please do not stop treatment abruptly by listening to people around you who may give some wrong advise. Hypothyroidism can lead to increased weight, swelling of face and legs & feet, feeling of excessive cold, dry skin, dry hair and hair fall. Menstrual problems and inability to become pregnant.
