lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. During pregnancy TSH should be maintained in the following manner: 1st Trimester: 0.1 to 2.5 mU/L, 2nd Trimester: 0.2 to 3.0 mU/L & 3rd Trimester: 0.3 to 3.0 mU/L. Therefore your level mentioned (3.950 mU/L) is high. It should be brought down. So please increase the dosage of thyroxine by 12.5 mcg per day. Then check TSH after 4 weeks to see if the desired level is achieved. There is no special diet. But I am sure you are aware about avoiding soy beans and all soy containing foods. Plus increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Always use whole grain flour for roti and chapati. Do not take maida containing foods at all. No bakery items. It is absolutely essential to bring TSH down to earlier recommended level as higher levels affect fetal development and pregnancy outcomes. Thanks.
