My age is 47 years. I am working in a MNC company as a officer for last 20 years. Recently I noticed that I'm a diabetic when tested. The blood sugar level is 95 before food and PPBS is 170. My question is I never liked sugar contents items till now, no body in my family have this issue so far. What would be the reason in my case and what are the diet schedule I need to follow, what are the precautions have I to take, isn't there any side effect if medications are taken? Please help.

You need not worry at the moment. Your blood sugar is not in diabetic range but postprandial hyperglycemia. Control your diet. Avoid sugar, jaggery,honey, sweets. Exercise regularly. Avoid weight gainmIf overweight reduce it. Monitor blood sugar regularly.

Sedentary lifestyle could be the reason. Anyone can have diabetes if your eating pattern is not correct and if you follow a sedentary lifestyle. Regular physical activity & small frequent meals avoiding refined ones & increasing complex carbs & high protein will help. Consult a doctor for medications. Check HbA1C.
