I lost somebody close last year and since then feel very depressed and prefer keeping to myself all the time .please help me.

Dear lybrate-user, Usually a grief reaction with depressive symptoms could happen for 6 months after you lost a loved one. However, is it is more than 6 months and depressive symptoms is interfering with your daily functioning, you should seek help. Though you do not feel like going out, activity is a natural mood enhancer and might start with going to temple/church/library daily might help you to improve your mood. Also you could consider consulting clinical Psychologist and take grief therapy to overcome the situation. A proper closure of your relationship with your loved one would help.
