My mother has been suffering from the condition of varicose veins for the past four years. She has tried medication, compression stockings and exercises. However, she now feels fatigued frequently, her legs feel very heavy to walk and she is finding it difficult to walk. She has now been advised operation. However, she is worried that the case shouldn't get worsened. Please advice what should be done.

Hi 1. To clarify that varicose vein laser or RFA or Open surgery are not of major surgeries if patients general health is adequately balanced in another disease spectrums. 2. These are not mandatory or emergency surgeries as nature of urgency varies with her routine and disease severity. 3. Properly confirm your diagnosis pain she is suffering is only from varicose veins and consider intervention of vascular surgeon advises and is not major surgery. 4. Suggestion to consult vascular surgeon and then take call. Till that time you can wear proper compression stockings from good company thank you.
