I am 54 years old woman and my tsh hormone on testing is 6.48 and I am using thyrox 75 tablet. Should I had to increase dose. And please tell the food to be avoided as I am only vegetarian. Thank you Waiting for your reply.

Thanks for the query. Since you are on treatment for hypothyroidism, it is essential to control TSH around 3 to 4 mU/L, at that levell all the symptoms are in check. Plus looking at your weight and height it is clear that you are overweight. Your ideal body weight should be 65 kgs. You need to avoid soy beans and soy containing foods. Plus always use whole grain flour for chapati and roti. Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Avoid bakery items, pastries, junk foods, foods made from maida. WIth TSH 6.48 mU/L, you may have to increase the dosage by 12.5 mcg, then check TSH after 6 weeks. Thanks.
