Dr. does children of this age have OCD and do they need to be on tablets for lifetime. Please let me know how safe are these tablets.

Good morning, OCD or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is rare before 5 years of age, though cases as early as 4 years onset has been seen. It can be seen at any age thereafter, peaks between ages of 10-12 years and then after 18. Whether the tablets are required for indefinite period or a specified time will need to individually assessed as per case severity, course and other parameters. The tablets used fir OCD are reasonably safe, specially when used as per advice of the treating Psychiatrist.
