My T3 is 234. 9 ng/dl, T4 is 25ug/dl, TSH is 0.001uIU/mL, Free T4 is 2.83 ng/dL .Is there any permanent cure for high thyroid? Do I need to do some more blood test? Somebody told me that you have to take medicine for whole life. Is it true? Please advice.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. The thyroid hormone levels (T3 & T4) mentioned are too high. Similarly TSH is too low. This clearly shows presence of Hyperthyroidism. In this situation unless appropriate treatment is taken there will be a number of troublesome and disturbing symptoms like excess sweating, weight loss, intolerance to heat, fast heart beat, palpitations, sleep disturbance etc. In hyperthyroidism in many cases once thyroid function returns to normal patients do remain well for many years. Not taking any treatment is not at all advisable. Choice is yours. Thanks.
