My wife's age is 36 yrs, she suffered with diabetes and also done angioplasty in year 2012, but at that time sugar not in control, doctor suggest Ryzodeg insulin twice a day ,it's very costly also suggest xigduo 10 mg/1000 mg tablet, other medicine coversyl plus, unistar20/150 and seloken xl100 is going on. Please tell me this insulin and tablet Chang to any lower option and effect to kidney also.

Hello, Thanks for the query. There are different medicines available for treating diabetes, which includes older drugs like Glimiperide, metformin cobinations, some DPP - IV inhibitors and many types of insulins. Some newer drugs like Degludec Insulin and Dapagliflozin are definitely more (very) expensive. Some doctors prefer those because there is a feeling that these drugs give better control or at times influenced by pharma companies. Since you are already under the treatment b any alternatives. Thanks. Y a particular diabetologist it is not possible to suggest.
