My blood pressure reading constantly revolves around 150/106 mmHg with no symptoms. I am a 48 years old mother of 2 children. And my weight is 71 kg height 5 ft 2 inches. I have been taking telmaxx 50 tablet in the morning everyday since past 7 years. Recently USG showed 3-4 cysts in both my kidneys largest being of 1.5 cm. Iv had irregular menses since past 3 years and got my last periods 3 months back. Could the High bp be because of PCKD / menopause? My doctor tells me that I need not worry as my body has gotten used to the high pressure. However I am worried of side effects following change in the tablet.

Hi Lybrate user. Having cysts 3-4 in each kidney is not something which can be ignored. The first thing that I would like to rule out is Polycystic kidney disease. Get a proper Usg abdomen to look for cysts in other organs. Also important is your family history. And your bp needs aggressive control. You need to contact a nephrologist or you can contact me.
