I'm taking homeopathy treatment for hypothyroid. My thyroid levels went up during pregnancy. It's been 2 years and yet my thyroid level is the same. My TSH is 7.2. In these 2 years it has fluctuated from 7 to 11 sometimes and from 7 to 6 during one time. I get stressed out very easily and find it tough to control my emotions. I have a 2.5 year old daughter who is very naughty and keeps me on my toes the whole day. Please let me know how many more years will it take for my thyroid levels to get back to normal. This health problem is affecting my quality of life. However as I am taking homeopathy treatment, the symptoms are better than before.

Lybrate-user , Thanks for the query. TSH ranging between 7 to 11 mU/L, shows you have hypothyroidism. Usually when TSH levels are between 6 to 9.9 mU/L, the condition is referred as Sub-clinical hypothyroidis. No treatment is advocated. However, in persons with presence of troublesome symptoms of that condition even at that level treatment is given to control all the symptoms. Please get you Anti TPO antibodies also checked, to see if there is any autoimmune problem. Hypothyroidism is a hormone deficiency disease, there is no cure for it. Only drug that can help or does help is taking adequate supplement of Levothyroxine. The other so called alternate pathies have absolutely no medication. Hence, if some thing is being taken, it has no effect. To control symptoms you need to start on Levothyroxine again. Then check TSH after 6 to 8 weeks. Thanks.
