My wife is suffered from Diabetic, sugar level is fasting- 225, and PP- 407. She can not control herself. I am so tired by her aggressive-impulsive behaviour. Please tell proper treatment.

Lybrate-user. , Thanks for the query. Both fasting and PP levels mentioned are too high. There is no mention of HbA1c% and lipid profile. Please make her understand that diabetes if left uncontrolled will lead to early development of serious long term complications affecting small and large blood vessels. This will cause retinopathy leading to blindness kidney problems leading to rapid kidney failure, peripheral neuropathy, loss of sensation in lower limbs and ulceration leading to loss of limbs (amputation). Over 1 lac persons lose their legs in each year. Ideally fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8, should be maintained if a person wants to live without complications. Since there is no mention about her drugs and dosage as well as diet and exercise it is difficult to give any other suggestion.
