Dr. Sir, I am taking glycomet GP 0.5 & JALRA M50/500 morning before breakfast and evening just before dinner. My FBS is high and lying 140 to 175 my HBA1C is 7.5. What should I do? Can increase dose in the morning?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Fasting glucose is very hig, but HbA1c% is in fairly good level. Ideally FBG should be < 100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8. Since there is no mention about extent of exercise being done and the diet being taken, it is difficult to comment. Instead of adding any more medication a better diet control and reduction of weight should help. Your weight should be 67 kgs, so a reduction of 8 to 10 kgs will bring down blood glucose to desired levels. Thanks.
