My father sometimes had breathing problems mostly during winter or at nights for sometime now. I want to know what all could be the reasons and want him to get properly treated. Asthma is the first thing that comes to my mind but I?m sure there must be other things as I don?t want to approach any physician blank headed. TIA.

You need not diagnose the issue for approaching the doctor. Typically in asthma patient has bouts of difficult breathing or breathlessness. In most others it is just DNS with hypertrophied turbinates. So let the doctor decide and treat accordingly. In Ayurveda we treat the root cause and also gradually help in decreasing dependency on bronchodilators (if advised)
