My tsh level is 5.19 I am taking a dose of 50 mcg+12. 5 mcg thyronorm tablets is it fine for my baby I am in first trimester in how many days my thyroid will be in control.

In pregnancy it is essential to maintain TSH in the following manner: 1st trimester - 0.1 to 2.5 mU/L, 2nd trimester - .0.2 to 3.0 mU/L, 3rd trimester - 0.3 to 3.0 mU/L. Based on the levels mentioned your present TSH is too high. It has to be rapidly reduced to < 2mU/L by increasing the dose by 25 mcg per day (62.5 + 25= 87.5) then check TSH after 4 weeks. Then keep checking that every 4 weeks till delivery. Post delivery dosage will have to be reduced based on TSH levels. If you have any doubts please come back.
