My mother aged 57 was a diabetic patient 5 months ago. But now it's under control (101 fasting and 102 after food). It was earlier 298 and 495. Now last week we did a test for urine and found that her albumin creatinine ratio is 49.6. We consulted our doctor. He prescribed us telma 40 mg. Is there anything to get worried? Please answer we are ltl tensed!

Urine albumin creatinine ratio 30-300 is suggestive of microalbuminurea which is a complication of diabetes and indicative of early sign of involvement of kidney but do not worry too much and follow advise of your doctor to errest further involvement of kidney. Keep blood sugar controlled. Avoid unnecessary medications for trivial problems specially pain killers.
