Dr. My mother aged 79 has been diagnosed with TB after Quantiferon Gold test result was positive. She already has hypertension but no diabetic, she is taking medicines (vasovin xl, Clopitorva, Nebula, Fourtz plus, restyl0. 5). Doctor has prescribed AKT4, Benadon, PAN40. Due to her age and medicines she is already taking, she is taking the above medicine alternate days. But after taking the medicine she has lost her sleep. Even after taking the sedative (Restyl) at night. She's having pain in the whole body, unable to see her suffering. With no sleep at all her eyes are painful and she is restless. The doctor did say AKT4 will have side effects. But for her age she is not able to bear the same. She is already confined to her bed most of the time. I have also not informed her that she has TB, as that will break her mentally. She is already in depression. I am completely helpless and it is more frustrating, to see her suffering.
