Please advise if Epiretinal Membranes in eyes can be cured without operation. Doctor has suggested operation for ERM in eye but also told about risks involved in operation. I do not want operation. Though ERM has been detected in so young age I want to avoid operation. Please suggest non operational remedy.

An epiretinal membrane is a thin sheet of fibrous tissue that can develop on the surface of the macular area of the retina and cause a disturbance in vision. An epiretinal membrane is also sometimes called a macular pucker, premacular fibrosis, surface wrinkling retinopathy or cellophane maculopathy.Vitrectomy with membrane peel is the most common vitreoretinal surgery billed to the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services. The procedure is typically performed to intervene in the event of epiretinal membrane (ERM) formation or vitreomacular traction syndrome that presents with visually significant symptoms.
