If it's prescribed by your doctor then you may take it, else please do not self medicate, since doctors prescribe you hypertension medications basis on your existing conditions, age, weight and height etc there are many factors that are considered for even prescribing menial medications, so please do not self medicate secondly if your BP is only slightly higher then do some deep breathing exercises, meditate in the morning for 10 min, eat healthy and fibre rich diet, increase your water intake and moderare exercise for 30 min this will help bring your cortisol levels down which in turn will bring your BP down.
