If I take psychiatric drugs for anxiety would there be a need to increase the strength and dosage of that particular drug in the long term to get the same effect as I felt when I had started to take them?

Hello Lybrate user Any moderation in the medecines cannot be done by the patient himself. A psychiatrist can only decide depending upon the severity, the effect, your body is response towards it and many other factors. It would be advisable that you have review with your psychiatrist every month or two aa guided by the professional. For anxiety disorder, combination therapy is also found to be beneficial i.e. Medecines along with psychotherapy. Try consulting a clinical psychologist for regular counselling sessions.
