Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. The Injection Prevenar 13 is a vaccine containing antigens of various Streptococcal pneumoniae strains. It is used to creat immunity against pneumococcal pneumonia (lung tissue infection). This infection can be very severe in persons with diabetes. So prevent that this injection (particularly in diabetic persons due to low resistance power), it is advised. Thanks.
