Is Diabetes a sugar oriented disease or calories orientated disease? As we know a Diabetes patient always asked to reduce intake of sugary items and also consume food in small amounts in hour-two hours batches instead of consuming large amount of calories in one time. So the glucose level in body remains constant. But why it is only applied for sugar? As we know there are three main sources of energy for human body. Fat, Protein and Carbs. These all provide calories (energy) to our body. So if sugars or carbs raise glucose level by providing calories to the body then why Fats and proteins are not considered for the same thing as they both are also provide calories to the body. Is this our digestion system which digest them differently or these are the fats and proteins which contain another things other than calories (energy? Please answer the all queries. Thanks.
