Hi, my Age: 19 Yrs Gender Female. Thing Is I have hypothyroid which Is borderline I guess 3 points more from 1 month and I am taking tablet of 25 mg. Doctor Is it OK to consume aloevera juice to cure hypothyroidism.

Lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. When on treatment with adequate dose of Levothyroxine, TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, at that one is free from all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Since there is no mention of actual TSH and T4 levels, it is difficult comment. Hypothyroidism is a hormone (thyroxine) deficiency disease. This hormone is needed daily for various metabolic functions in the body plus for functioning of brain. So there is a need for daily supplementation. Hence there is no cure. Aloe vera has no effect on thyroid function. You have to thyroxine tablets for life time. Thanks.
