When i catch a cold, i get a lot of mucus / phlegm ...is this normal? is there any relationship between quantum of mucus and immunity to cold / cough / fever?

No. Any amount of sputum can be produced even by a simple cold and it does not depend on your immunity. However if you have nasal allergic there can be a lot of mucus production.

Yes, it is normal and once in a year its good to have cold...and don't stop it let all mucus get out...its a kind of dirt removing process out of your body.
