Dear lybrate-user, Prolactin is a hormone which is produced by the anterior pituitary gland in our bodies. There are many diseases associated with high levels of Prolactin, including SLE or systemic Lupus Erythematosus. However, the doctor who requested the test would be able to tell you the reason he did so. Thank you.
