For the past two years, I have been getting repeated wounds and cuts on the side of my tongue. I have a constant burning pain 24/7. This might be due to a sharp teeth or something else, but the cause has not yet been diagnosed properly. Recently, I noticed a small painless bulge/lump on my tongue. Since it is said that chronic trauma to the tongue may lead to cancer, should I take any tests to determine it?

You need a clinical examination of your oral cavity by a cancer surgeon If necessary he may do a biopsy from the lesion and also a MRI of mouth and neck.
