My wife, 47 yrs. Has single gallstone. She had 20.8 mm stone as on She was taking some homeopathic medicines. On 11.01.2019, I did an USG. The stone measured 16.5 mm. Rest is normal. Kindly advise, should she continue medicines or go for surgery. There is low pain. Physician after examination said, there is no urgency for surgery.

Stone greater than 10 mm needs to be operated. At times it happens to be asymptomatic but there is high risk of complications later. I would suggest you to go for laparoscopic cholecystectomy as it is very convenient with 1-2 days of hospital stay.
