Hi, I was in a car accident yesterday evening, I hit a guardrail and since have had back pains, shoulder pain, rib pain, headaches. I don't feel like myself and am constantly scared driving in bad weather. Should I get checked?

Hi lybrate-user, Yes, definitely. Please see your doctor today itself to rule out any further damage to your joints. Sometimes, we do not realize the intensity of pain until we get it checked. It could be temporary or may lead to permanent damages as well! Your headaches are due to concussion as you hit your head suddenly or get a jerk, it leads to pain and dizziness. Points to remember: 1. Do not lift any heavy things until your pain subsides 2. Take pain medications only AFTER consultiing your family doctor 3. Take ICE PACK for your back, shoulder and rib pain. 4 times/day for 15 minutes in elevation. This will subside your pain and prevents further complications. Feel free to ask me further questions.
