For a book of 140/100, I have been taking telma 40, metolar xr 25 for past 10 days. However on checking yesterday, my bp has shot to 160/100 asked to add stamlo 10 to my current medicine intake. Please advise.

Hypertension as a disease need to be evaluated in detail. You must consult a cardiologist to find out are there any correctable causes of hypertension like sleep apnoea, hypothyroidism, renal artery stenosis and so on. Then we need to find out are there any complications of hypertension already present or not. This will require kidney function tests, fundus examination, ecg, 2d echo. Then based on above tests your medicines need to be revised. Not to forget you need to make certain lifestlye changes like alcohol and smoking cessation, loss of excess weight, decrease the salt intake, avoid packaged foods, and daily exercises in addition to medicines to keep your blood pressure under control.
