I am 27 year old male and I have hair fall issue (male pattern baldness) towards the front side. I have consulted the dermatologist and he has advised to take finasteride tablets and minoxidil gel. I have google about finasteride and got to know about the side effects. Could you clarify my doubts about finasteride, does it has got side effects and what's the after effects after I stop taking finasteride. Is there gonna be high hair fall. Please help me I need some clarity because it's a normal hair fall now.

Finesteride is us fda approved medicine for male pattern baldness so it's pretty safe & effective for this indication. About possible side effects - I would say there is no medicine without possibility of side effects. When it comes to finesteride, significant side effects are very rare and a lot of them if do occur are reversible on stopping medicine. So continue finesteride under watch of your dermatologist. There won't be incresead hair loss after finesteride but with time slowly aga will take over it's activity.
