I have been diagnosed as bph with a grossly enlarged prostate which weighs 124 gms. Kidneys and bladder are normal. Two ultrasonagraphy of urinary tract are taken in one post void residue is 26 cc. And the second one 73 cc. Psa is 6.59 and the ratio of free to total psa is 28.8%. My age is 70 years. My frequency of urination in the night is not more than 2 or 3 times. Mri report is normal. I am advised to take silodal d 8 mg. I have been taking the medicine for last 3 months and there is a marked improvement in the flow of urine. Also the flow of urine is strong. What is your advise?

you need to continue this medicine for longer periods. gradually your prostate size will come down.

In all probability this borderline psa rise is not malignancy related as you have a very large prostate. You could follow this psa every 3-6 months twice. If there is no significant increase I would suggest you can change to silodal d as it will also help reduce prostate size.
