I was not diabetic, last time I checked for sugar was in nov 2018 and it was normal. I recently had uti and when I got checked my blood sugar was high. Fbs 314 and ppbs 352. And hba1c was>10. It was tested on 14 april 2019. On consulting the doctor, he has put me on glycomet 500. Again I got it tested on 24th april, fbs 170 and ppbs 219. Doctor has put me on glycomet 850 now. With this back round I would like to know if it can be reversed with exercise and diet control.

Mr Mahaveerchand, Thanks for the query. Looking at your weight and height with a BMI of 32.42 kgs /Sq mete (Normal < 23kgs/Sq meter)r, you are already in grade 1 obesity with an excess of 23 plus kgs. This is an invitation for diabetes. Usually when a person is prediabetic state ( Fasting glucose 101 to 125 mg, PP 141 to 199 mg & HbA1c% < 6.4%), it is possible to either prevent progressing to diabetes or delay the developing of it. Once diabetes is confirmed then it is invariably impossible to reverse it. However, if you reduce the weight by 10 to 15 kgs, there is every possibility achieving a better control. Thanks.
