The latest prescription for depression/anxiety reads as follows:- (of course, as per doctor's advice) a) zosert 100 mg 1-0-0 zosert 50 mg 1-0-0 b) trazalon 50 mg 0-0-1. My clarification is (or as a second opinion), do these two come under ssri's? Can they be combined together? I have got great faith in you, for the answers are precise and to the point. Kindly clarify these two doubts.

Hello I can appreciate your thinking in raising this query. - Zosert ( Sertraline) is an effective medication for depression & anxiety. I can see that you are taking 150 mgs once daily which is a good enough dose. The maximum dose will be 200 mgs once daily - Zosert and Trazalon are both antidepressants but chemically they belong to different class. Zosert is an SSRI . Trazalon is more of a serotonin modulator. - Sometimes low dose Trazalon can be used to manage sleep problems and help with relaxation. Perhaps that may be a reason why your doctor may have prescribed both Zosert and Trazalon. Check with your prescribing doctor as well and have regular reviews so that your response can be monitored and also any potential side effects and can be managed. Hope this helps
